Scott Grogan has been Pastor at Salem Baptist Church since October of 2023. He has over 20 years of ministry experience and has developed evangelistic and discipleship programs in various church and non-profit settings. He led initiatives to introduce Bible-based relationship skills education throughout Northeast Florida and has been a guest speaker in that area to the United States Air Force and many churches throughout the country. His love for Jesus and commitment to the Great Commission guides his vision for Salem and our outreach to the community.

Raised in Richmond, Virginia, he graduated from the Virginia Military Institute and ended up in Jacksonville, Florida, where he met his lovely wife, Rachel.  After being called into full-time ministry, Scott served as the Northeast Regional Manager at Live the Life, a Christian non-profit devoted to creating healthy marriages and families. Eventually, God called him back to the Richmond area to be near family, and he served in lay leadership for four years, teaching and building relationships in areas from children to adults.

In January of 2023, God called Scott to seek full-time ministry with a renewed sense of urgency, and the culmination of that pursuit was his calling to lead Salem Baptist Church as the Senior Pastor. Rachel now serves as the Children’s Director at Salem, where their daughter, Lilliam, attends and serves. Both his family and Salem have been blessed by God’s leadership in this pairing.
