Confession of Faith
We accept the Baptist Faith and Message adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention on June 14, 2000, to be an accurate expression of our beliefs.
Our Beliefs
What do we believe?
- That the Bible is the inspired Word of God, without error and the final authority for faith and practice (II Timothy 3:16-17)
- That there is one and only one living and true God. He exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Hebrews 1:1-3; II Corinthians 13:14)
- That God, as Father, rules the universe according to the purposes of His grace. He is all powerful, all knowing, all loving, and all wise. (Genesis 1:1;2:7; Jeremiah 10:10,12)
- That God, as Jesus Christ, was born of a virgin and came to earth to die on the cross and make a provision for man to be redeemed from sin. He raised from the dead and is now at the right hand of God where He is a Mediator between God and man (Matthew 1:18-23; Luke 1:35; Romans 3:24-25)
- That God, as the Holy Spirit, convicts the world of sin. He calls men to the Savior and makes them children of God through regeneration. The Holy Spirit seals and indwells each believer at the time of salvation. He enables and empowers each believer to resist sin and live a life of godliness (John 16:7-14; I Corinthians 2:10-14)
- That man is born with a sinful nature and can only be redeemed by choosing to make Jesus Christ his Lord and Saviour (Romans 5:8,10,12)
- That salvation is the gift of God, given by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-10)
